Skilled diesel technicians are in high demand. Get the skills you need for a great career in commercial motor vehicle maintenance, repair and advanced diagnostics. With this associate degree, you ll receive in-depth theory and extensive hands-on training in heavy-duty diesel engine maintenance, air brake and hydraulic brake systems, drivetrains, steering and suspensions, and electrical systems. You ll also gain skills in diesel engine rebuild and repair, engine systems, computer control systems and advanced drivetrain systems while you work on our fleet of over 75 diesel-powered over-the-road tractors and 55 trailers. The addition of math, communication, and social science courses provides you with a well-rounded education to help advance your career.

A program that requires its students to demonstrate they have successfully acquired a set of skills or knowledge base prior to completing the program. Compare to a "time-based" training program that results in successful completion if the students participate in a certain number of instructional hours.

3 weeks prior to a semester beginning in either August for fall or January for spring.

FVTC Teaching & Learning Center - tutoring is available for Math, Accounting, Science, Reading and study skills, writing and study groups.
Tuition and fees are subject to change. Costs may not include all books or all materials and supplies.Some textbook costs may be included in the estimated program cost.
Refunds are processed according to the WTCS refund policy. Wisconsin Technical College 10.08, Wisconsin Administrative Code, establishes the requirements for district policies and procedures related to student fee refunds. Refunds are applicable only from the date the student officially drops the class through Enrollment Services or online. FVTC will not drop any classes for students for nonpayment or for failure to attend any portion of the class. All references to student fees mean applicable
